The Agricultural Trade Office (ATO) of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) welcomes Taiwan agricultural and food service buyers to visit the USA Pavilion at the 2015 Taipei International Food Show (TIFS) from June 24 – 27 at the Nangang Exhibition Hall (Address: N1201a, No.1, Jingmao 2nd Rd., Nangang District, Taipei City).
The USA Pavilion is the largest international pavilion, encompassing 74 booths with more than 20 exhibitors. To tap into Taiwan’s growing demand for natural food preparation, the U.S. exhibits feature fresh potatoes, barley flake, ginseng, organic soy sauce, sugar-free breath mints, and various dairy products. According to the U.S. Census Bureau Trade Data, the U.S. high-value agricultural exports to Taiwan hit its all-time high in 2014, reaching nearly US$1.4 billion. The trend is forecast to continue.
This year the California Milk Advisory Board, the Idaho Potato Commission, the United Dairymen of Idaho, the U.S. Soybean Export Council, and the Wisconsin Ginseng Board will lead delegations to exhibit their new products, provide sampling, and connect with potential buyers at the show. In addition, the U.S. Meat Export Federation will break new gourmet ground with a stream of top culinary talents to demonstrate high-quality U.S. meat and fusion cooking styles. Industry buyers are welcome to watch the demonstrations and explore new business opportunities.
Following the TIFS is the exciting city’super retail promotion in July. AIT/ATO will partner with the Far Eastern Group’s retail sector, city’super, to organize an American Food Festival throughout its 6 stores in Taiwan from July 1-21, 2015. The American Food Festival promotion will feature hundreds of U.S. food and beverage products, including dried food products, fresh produce, and seafood. More than 40 brand-new U.S. food products will be introduced to the Taiwan market through the promotion. Consumers will also get a chance to join the lucky draw and win the grand prize – a round-trip flight ticket from Taipei to the United States – which is being sponsored by Delta Airlines. The ATO invites the media and general public to join the American Food Festival opening ceremony on July 1, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. at city’super’s Mega City store in New Taipei City.
