Thank you, Minister Tang.

Director General Wu, Commissioner Lee, CEO Lin, ladies and gentleman, good morning. It’s my great pleasure to join you at the opening ceremony of the American Innovation Pavilion. Organized jointly by the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and the Taiwan Design Center (TDC), the American Innovation Pavilion showcases innovative technologies and their applications through interactive experiences, activities and exhibitions.

You can visit Yosemite National Park with President Obama through virtual reality; you can play a mind-reading game by utilizing big data; you can also enjoy new creative applications and interactive digital magazines here. If you are interested in art, you can create unique artwork on the cloud platform for the city of Taipei with digital artists by uploading your photos during your visit. If you are interested in the medical field, there is a chance for you to use 3D mapping projection to learn about human body structure or see how 3D printing can help patients who are in need of cranium reconstruction. Everything here is exciting and fun. I hope people will be inspired to create and innovate after visiting this place.

Finally, I want to thank TDC, IBM Taiwan, Microsoft Taiwan, National Geographic, and many other friends and partners for their support of the American Innovation Pavilion. I would like to invite each of you to take this opportunity to take a tour of our American Innovation Pavilion. Thank you.
