In order to streamline the visa application process, the American Institute in Taiwan is implementing a new visa appointment, fee payment and document delivery system starting on March 1, 2014. This system, already in use in consular sections throughout the world, will make it easier for applicants to schedule their visa interview appointments, pay visa processing fees, and check on the status of their issued visas.
Beginning March 1, 2014, visa applicants will be able to schedule their visa interviews online at www.ustraveldocs.com/tw. They can use this website to pay their visa fees, select a delivery address for document return, and track their passports after the visa interview.
Also as part of AIT’s expanded visa services, applicants can access a call center beginning on March 1, 2014 in order to receive assistance with the visa application process. Call center representatives will be available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. (local time) at 07010801575 (in Taiwan) or (+886) 7010801575 (from outside Taiwan), and in the U.S. (Eastern Standard Time) at (+1) 703-665-7348. Please note that the representatives answering calls to the U.S. number will speak English. The call center is closed on weekends and holidays observed by AIT.
The United States is committed to meeting the growing demand for visas to the United States, and our new appointment, fee payment and passport return system is part of our ongoing effort to improve service to the traveling public from Taiwan.
