Typhoon TALIM

American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) Logo

The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) cautions U.S. citizens that Typhoon Talim is currently in the western Pacific Ocean east of Taiwan.  Although Taiwan’s Central Weather Bureau (CWB) does not expect Typhoon Talim to make direct landfall in Taiwan, the northern part of the island will likely begin to feel the effects of the storm from Wednesday night, September 13 until Thursday morning.   Expect heavy rainfall, high winds, dangerous storm tides, and possible flooding to occur.

All U.S. citizens living in or traveling to the area should monitor local weather reports, follow directions from local officials, and take other appropriate actions as needed.  International Community Radio Taipei (ICRT) provides regular weather bulletins in English on 100.7 FM in the Taipei and Kaohsiung areas and on 100.1 FM in Taichung.
