The United States Releases the 2019 Trafficking In Persons Report

U.S. Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo released the 2019 Traffic In Persons (TIP) Report at a public ceremony on June 20, 2019 at 9:00 AM (EDT) in Washington, DC.  The 2019 TIP Report includes narratives for more than 180 countries and territories, including the United States and Taiwan.  The United States and Taiwan are both listed as Tier 1.

A Tier 1 ranking does not indicate that a country or a territory has eradicated trafficking, nor does it mean that a government’s response is perfect.  Rather, it signifies that a country or a territory has met the Trafficking Victims Protection Act’s (TVPA) minimum standards.

The entire TIP Report is available online at https://www.state.gov/trafficking-in-persons-report/

The U.S. narrative and Taiwan narrative are also available at the AIT website.
