The online system for submitting entries will be open beginning on October 6, 2021, and will close for entries on November 9, 2021.  If you are interested in entering the DV lottery make sure to apply early to avoid any system delays. Entries can only be submitted electronically—paper entries will not be accepted. The Department website for the submission of E-DV entries is dvprotram.state.gov. To find out more, please visit the Department of State’s public webpage at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/diversity-visa-program-entry/diversity-visa-instructions.html.

Important Notice:

  • The law allows only one entry by or for each person during each registration period. Entrants who submit more than one entry will be disqualified.
  • Applicants must submit a recent photo taken within the last six months that is compliant with specifications published in the state.gov/dv/instructions. DV entry photographs must meet the same standards as U.S. visa photos. Your entry will be disqualified or your visa application refused if the entry photographs for you and your family members do not fully meet these specifications or have been manipulated in any way.
  • Please consult the Diversity Visa Instructions and Fraud Warning on the Department’s website (travel.state.gov) for complete information about participating in the current DV program.
  • The principal entrants must provide information from a valid, unexpired passport at the time of DV entry, unless they are unable to obtain a passport and fall under one of three limited exemptions (listed in the DV-2023 Instructions).

The online system for submitting entries will be open at dvprogram.state.gov between 13:00 pm (EDT), Wednesday, October 6, 2021, and 12:00 pm (EST), Tuesday, November 9, 2021. No late entries or paper entries will be accepted.
