The 11th Trade and Investment Framework Agreement Council Meeting

AIT is pleased to announce the 11th Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) Council meeting will be held via digital video conference on Wednesday June 30th Taipei time. AIT Director Brent Christensen and TECRO Representative Bi-Khim Hsiao will open the meeting with the Office of the United States Trade Representative and Taiwan’s Office of Trade Negotiations serving as the chief consultants.

The AIT-TECRO TIFA was signed in 1994 and has served as the platform for advancing our mutual trade and investment interests. Taiwan is the United States’ 10th largest trading partner, and the United States is Taiwan’s 2nd largest trading partner, with a combined two-way goods trade of almost US $91 billion in 2020; cumulative bilateral foreign direct investment reached over US $47 billion.  AIT looks forward to using the TIFA process to strengthen the strategic trade and investment partnership that exists between our two economies.
