U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Principal Deputy Assistant Administrator Jane Nishida will visit Taiwan on July 12 to meet with Taiwan officials and students to promote U.S.-Taiwan cooperation through the International Environmental Partnership (IEP), a joint multi-year effort of the U.S. EPA and Taiwan’s Environmental Protection Administration. Through the IEP, the United States and Taiwan are addressing common priorities such as environmental education, electronic waste management, air pollution, mercury monitoring, and remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater. These shared platforms unite our experts, students, and many others in promoting a healthy and clean environment.

Principal Deputy Assistant Administrator Nishida has over thirty years of environmental experience in federal and state government and with international and nongovernmental organizations. She has visited Taiwan several times to promote IEP and launch other cooperative programs, most recently in July 2017. Her visit to Taiwan will further develop the long-standing partnership between Taiwan and the United States on pressing regional and global environmental priorities.
