Taiwan’s Public Television Service (PTS) will broadcast a TV recording of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) Kaohsiung Branch Office-sponsored “Evening of American Music” concert during its regularly-scheduled “Performance Hall” classical music program at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 24.
The “Evening of American Music” concert originally took place in front of 1,600 spectators at the Kaohsiung Cultural Center on November 15, 2009. North Carolina Symphony Orchestra Resident Conductor William Henry Curry came to Taiwan to conduct the “Evening of American Music” concert, which featured well-known compositions by great American composers such as George Gershwin and John Williams, and the Taiwan premiere of Maestro Curry’s own piece, “Eulogy for a Dream.”
