Important information for visa applicants:

As of Wednesday, July 15, AIT Taipei has resumed routine visa services. We are currently prioritizing student and exchange visitor visa processing (F,M,J). Please be aware that wait times may be long for routine appointments. If you have an urgent matter and need to travel immediately, you may follow the guidance provided at https://www.ustraveldocs.com/tw/tw-niv-expeditedappointment.asp to request an emergency appointment. The MRV fee is valid and may be used to schedule an interview appointment where it was purchased within one year of the date of payment.

The five geographical COVID-19 proclamations (Presidential Proclamations 9984, 9992, 9993, 9996, 10041) and the two COVID-19 labor market proclamations suspending the entry of certain individuals (Presidential Proclamations 10014, 10052) remain in effect. Applicants for H1B, H2B, L1, and certain J categories and their dependents covered by Presidential Proclamation 10052 should request an appointment only if you have reason to believe you may qualify for one of the exceptions listed in the Proclamation here: https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/proclamation-suspending-entry-aliens-present-risk-u-s-labor-market-following-coronavirus-outbreak/.
