On March 18, an audience of 1200 people, including students, academics, journalists, NGO representatives, and local officials, enjoyed an inspiring performance by Carolyn Malachi and ensemble at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU). O-KAI Singers, one of Taiwan’s top a cappella groups, also performed with the acclaimed Grammy-nominated singer to have cultural exchange through music. The packed house enjoyed an exciting evening of beautiful music. Malachi’s March 19 program in Pingtung was a big success, too. Inspired by her engaging performance, a full-house of 820 at the Pingtung Performing Arts Center echoed and clapped along with the music. An aboriginal children’s choir from Pingtung’s Timur Elementary School also joined the show, singing two Paiwan tribal folk songs.
