Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF) International Workshop
on Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief

The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) is pleased to co-host with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and the National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction (NCDR) under the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) the Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF) International Workshop on Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief on December 14 at the National Fire Agency Training Center in Nantou County.
AIT Deputy Director Raymond Greene will join MOFA Deputy Foreign Minister Hsu Szu-chien and Ministry of the Interior’s National Fire Agency Training Center Director Lee Ming-hsien in delivering opening remarks. Representatives from the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (APCSS) will also share their experience in disaster relief at the workshop.
This workshop will include participants from 10 countries spanning two continents, who will share best practices, and look for opportunities to deepen international cooperation on integrating private, civil and public sector disaster response capabilities into regional preparedness and response efforts. This will be the fifteen workshop and the second one on humanitarian assistance and disaster relief since the GCTF’s inception in 2015.
