In July 2020, Emily and her family arrived in Taipei, Taiwan for her second assignment to the American Institute in Taiwan with the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS). Emily previously served in Taiwan from 2012-2016 as the Agricultural Attaché in the Agricultural Affairs Office. She returns to AIT as the Director of the Agricultural Trade Office, focused on marketing and promotion of U.S. agricultural products available in the Taiwan market.
Prior to her return to Taiwan, Emily served as Agricultural Attaché in the Office of Agricultural Affairs in Berlin, Germany from 2016-2020. The FAS office in Germany includes two Americans, ten locally employed staff, and has regional responsibility for Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic.
Joining Emily is her husband Lee Trumpore, a middle school teacher at the Taipei American School. Lee is part-time photographer and full-time biking enthusiast, who competes professionally when time allows. In tow are two small children: Jackson Rex, born in Taipei, December 2015, and Georgia Wilde, a Berlin girl, born December 2018. Emily is a 5th generation Wyomingite where her family still resides. She graduated from Colorado State University with undergraduate degrees in Animal Science and International Studies, and a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics. Emily is an ever-improving cook whose talents are under-appreciated by her children. Emily is certain she has the best job in the world and enjoys sharing U.S. agriculture with an international audience, specifically red wine, craft beer, and beef.
