Information for Scholars and Post-baccalaureate Students from Taiwan:
The Fulbright Program in Taiwan is administered locally by the Foundation for Scholarly Exchange. Please check their website under the page for “Grants” for information on how to apply. The deadline for scholars from Taiwan to apply normally falls in October, one year before the start of the grant year. The deadline for students from Taiwan to apply for a grant normally falls in August, one year before the start of the grant year.
Information for Host Universities in Taiwan:
University professors/departments in Taiwan that are interested to host an American Fulbright Scholar to teach, for up to 10 months, under the regular Fulbright grant program should contact the Foundation for Scholarly Exchange for information and forms on how to host a scholar. The contact telephone number is (02) 2388-2100. The deadline to request a scholar under the regular Fulbright Program normally falls in October, two years before the start of the grant year. (i.e., the deadline to request for a scholar for the September 2012 academic year will be in October 2010)
Information for American Scholars :
The Fulbright Scholar Program in the U.S. is administered by the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES) . Please check their website under the page for “Fulbright Programs for U.S. Scholars – Traditional Programs” to view the specific program related information regarding applicant eligibility and awards availability for Taiwan, and for instructions on how to apply. The deadline for U.S. scholars to apply for a grant under the traditional Fulbright Scholar Program normally falls in August, one year before the start of the grant year.

Short-term, two to six week, Fulbright Senior Specialist program grant opportunities for Senior American scholars are administered by the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES). Taiwan degree granting academic institutions wishing to host a Fulbright Senior Specialist may submit a request through the AIT American Center. Requests must be reviewed and approved by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the sponsor of the Fulbright Programs.Click here for more details.
