On Friday, June 29, the Commercial Section of the American Institute in Taiwan and the Discover America Taiwan Committee will launch the second year of the My Dream Vacation USA program. My Dream Vacation USA is an innovative program that promotes U.S. destinations through quarterly theme based media events. The themes for the upcoming year will include:
- Shopping (June 29, 2012): This event will profile the diverse shopping destinations awaiting Taiwan tourists in the United States, including Premium Outlets, Fashion Outlets and Macys Department Store.
- Amusement and Theme Parks (Fall 2012): Amusement and theme parks will take center stage where Taiwan tourists of all ages can dream of the magical experiences awaiting them. Disneyland and Sea World will be among the amusement and themes parks presented.
- Sports (Winter 2013): Spectator and recreational sports are an important part of the Taiwan tourist’s journey to the United States. From skiing to hiking to watching baseball, America’s past time, there are many options from which to choose.
- National Parks (Spring 2013): The United States boasts many national parks that offer an array of activities including hiking, mountain biking, camping, and scenic views. Taiwan tourists can start planning their next vacation to a national park in the United States.
The organizers of My Dream Vacation USA are pleased to announce the continuation of the quarterly photo contests, which are open to the Taiwan public. Participants are requested to submit a photo that is representative of the quarterly theme, which will commence with the shopping theme on June 29. The grand prize winner of each photo contest will receive a round-trip ticket from Taipei to the United States. Moreover, the Taiwan public is invited to visit the My Dream Vacation USA website
(http://www.vacationUSA.com.tw) and vote on their favorite photo. All voters will be entered into a luck-draw for the chance to win a free round-trip ticket to the United States. The airline tickets are sponsored by China Airlines, Delta Airlines, EVA Airways, and United Airlines.
A total of 40 participants are supporting My Dream Vacation USA, including five U.S. states, two U.S. cities, two U.S. territories, three shopping destinations, an amusement park, two American and two Taiwan Airlines, thirteen local travel agents, and other U.S. destinations and service providers.
