Daniel Russel, Diplomat in Residence and Senior Fellow at the Asia Society Policy Institute, will visit Taiwan October 22-25, 2017.
While in Taiwan, Mr. Russel will meet with Taiwan authorities, academics, opinion leaders, and the American Institute in Taiwan. He will also deliver a keynote speech at National Chengchi University.
A career member of the Senior Foreign Service at the U.S. Department of State, Mr. Russel served as the Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs from July 2013 to March 2017. Prior to his appointment as Assistant Secretary, Mr. Russel served at the White House as Special Assistant to the President and National Security Council (NSC) Senior Director for Asian Affairs.
