Ann Marie Buerkle, Acting Chairman of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), will visit Taiwan November 15-17 for meetings with Taiwan Authorities and to launch a joint training on toy safety.
Ann Marie Buerkle has served as a Commissioner at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) since July of 2013. She was named Acting Chairman of the agency on February 9, 2017. On July 24, 2017, President Donald J. Trump announced his intent to nominate Ms. Buerkle to be permanent Chairman and to an additional seven year term to the Commission.
Prior to joining the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Ms. Buerkle served the people of Upstate New York’s 25th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Prior to being elected to Congress, Ms. Buerkle was appointed as an Assistant New York State Attorney General representing the State of New York on behalf of Upstate Medical University, a role she held for 13 years.
