The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) is delighted to announce a call for artwork by young Taiwan artists to be featured at an Art Exhibition at the AIT Director’s residence. The deadline to submit work for consideration is September 1, 2016.
The call is open to all Taiwan students and recent graduates (between 16 and 30 years of age). The selected artwork will join the Art in AIT exhibition and be on display at the AIT Director’s residence and will also be featured in AIT programs and on AIT social media platforms. The selected artist will receive a certificate of appreciation from AIT.
AIT welcomes traditional, stylized, and abstract paintings or photographs that represent the connections between the United States and Taiwan, international dialogue or cultural exchange, or address the concept of exchange. Work will be juried by a panel comprised of AIT staff and art professors, and the panel will also receive input from curators in the State Department’s Art in Embassies Office. Works will be judged by originality, interpretation of concept, demonstration of ability, and usage of medium.
The Art in AIT Exhibition is part of the Art in Embassies (AIE) Program supported by the U.S. Department of State with an aim to promote cultural exchange through visual diplomacy.
