The American Institute in Taiwan Kaohsiung Branch Office, in cooperation with National Sun Yat-sen University America Center, is pleased to announce the opening of the “American Board Game” exhibition on October 24, 2014 at Kaohsiung Dream Mall. AIT Kaohsiung Branch Office Chief Robert DeWitt will preside over the opening ceremony on October 24, 2014.
The “American Board Game” exhibition is the fourth exhibit co-organized by the American Institute in Taiwan Kaohsiung Branch Office and the National Sun Yat-Sen University America Center. The exhibition, with support from Kaohsiung Dream Mall, Hasbro Taiwan, and Mattel, Inc., will display American board games that were popular at various times. A Mattel board game will also be provided at the exhibition for local audiences to play and experience the exciting fun of American board games.
American board games have evolved from the colonial times to the modern period. The development of American board games is closely related to American history. Every board game has its own educational significance and unique cultural background. In addition, each board game is representative of a particular stage of American political and economic development. We hope that the exhibition, featuring a wide range of fun board games, will help local audiences learn more about American history and culture.
