Ed Dunn Commences as AIT Spokesperson

On July 27, 2021, Mr. Ed Dunn began in his new role as the Spokesperson at the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT).  Before joining AIT, Mr. Dunn participated in the U.S. Department of State “Lawrence S. Eagleburger Fellowship,” working at a global strategic communications and public affairs consulting firm.

Prior to this, he served as the Public Affairs Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Tallinn, Estonia and Deputy Spokesperson at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia.  Other overseas tours include Guangzhou, China and Islamabad, Pakistan.  In Washington, he served as the Acting Director of the State Department’s Office of Digital Engagement and as a Pakistan Desk Officer.

A native of Minnesota, Mr. Dunn has a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Chinese from Emory University and studied Sino-U.S. Relations at the Johns Hopkins-SAIS Hopkins Nanjing Center.  He speaks Estonian, Indonesian, and Chinese.  Mr. Dunn is joined in Taiwan by his wife and two children.
