The American Institute in Taiwan Kaohsiung Branch Office is pleased to welcome the participation of the Motion Picture Association (MPA) as a co-organizer of the Kaohsiung Film Festival 2015. The MPA will join Taiwan partners in conducting a one-day workshop on October 29 for Taiwan filmmakers and film industry representatives from the Asia Pacific region to discuss international marketing strategies and intellectual property right (IPR) protection for the film industry.
The workshop will feature a master class on maximizing the value of your creative intellectual property by Marcus Gillezeau, Chief Executive Officer of Australian Firelight Production, and two panel discussions moderated by MPA Vice President and Regional Legal Counsel for Asia-Pacific Michael Schlesinger and Regional Director Stephen Jenner on global benchmarks for effective creative content protection and pitching and selling your product, respectively. In support of the Kaohsiung Film Festival and the MPA workshop, AIT Economic Officer Kris Kvols will deliver opening remarks on the role of IPR protection in promoting innovation and creativity in the 21st century.
The theme for the Kaohsiung Film Festival 2015 is IPR protection on the Internet. The Kaohsiung Film Festival 2015 is co-organized by the Motion Picture Association, the Taiwan International Screen Foundation, and the Kaohsiung Cultural Affairs Bureau, and will take place at the Kaohsiung Film Archive from October 23 to November 8.
