AIT Seeks Applicants for “Study of the United States Institutes” Programs

The American Institute in Taiwan’s Public Affairs Section seeks applicants for seven Summer 2010 Study of the United States Institutes.  Study of the United States Institutes are rigorous postgraduate-level academic seminars with integrated study tours that provide groups of 18-30 educators and professionals from around the world the opportunity to deepen their understanding of American society, culture and institutions.

The topics of the Summer 2010 Study of the United States Institutes include U.S. culture and society, American politics and political thought, contemporary American literature, U.S. foreign policy, journalism and the media, religious pluralism in the United States, and an Institute for secondary educators.

The programs will be held from mid-June through early-August 2010 at various sites in the United States, and are designed for faculty and school educators.  The Study of the United States Institutes’ goal is to strengthen curricula and to improve the quality of teaching about the United States at universities and other educational, training and research institutions.

All participant costs will be covered by the American Institute in Taiwan.
