All offices of the American Institute in Taiwan will be closed on Monday, December 24, and Tuesday, December 25, 2018, in observance of Christmas Day in the United States. This includes the Consular Section, the Commercial Section, the Agricultural Trade Office, the American Center and the AIT Kaohsiung Branch Office. All offices will re-open on Wednesday, December 26 at the usual time.
President Donald Trump issued an Executive Order December 18 to close all executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government and excuse their employees from duty on Monday, December 24, 2018, the day before Christmas Day.
Rescheduling American Citizen Services Appointments
If you had a Monday, December 24, 2018 appointment for American Citizen Services, your appointment will be rescheduled to Friday, December 21, 2018, at the same time as your appointment time on Monday.
If you are not able to come on Friday, December 21, 2018, please use our online appointment system to reschedule your previously scheduled appointment.
Rescheduling Immigrant Visa Interview Appointments
Individuals who had immigrant interview appointments scheduled for Monday, December 24, 2018 will be contacted individually with rescheduling information. Please come to AIT’s location on Xinyi Road at your rescheduled date and time. In order to facilitate your entrance to the waiting room, please present a copy of your email confirmation to our staff at the Consular Entrance.
