AIT Statement of Condolence on the April 2, 2021 Train Derailment
On behalf of the American people, the American Institute in Taiwan sends its deepest condolences to the victims, families, and communities impacted by today’s tragic train derailment. We wish the people of Taiwan peace and comfort during this difficult time.
The United States and Taiwan have a long history of providing generous and impactful humanitarian assistance and disaster relief to people around the world in their time of need. The United States stands ready to assist Taiwan as it responds to and recovers from today’s events.
