AIT Co-Organizes Taiwan-U.S. Commercial Forum in Southern Taiwan and Honors “2008 Importer of the Year”

PR-0912E | AIT Kaohsiung Branch Office, in conjunction with Department of Commerce of Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and the National Pingtung Institute of Commerce (NPIC), is pleased to announce a Taiwan-U.S. Commercial Forum on Wednesday, April 15, at 1:30 p.m. at NPIC’s campus in Pingtung.

The forum will address prospects for overcoming the global financial crisis. AIT Kaohsiung Branch Chief Chris Castro will deliver opening remarks, AIT Kaohsiung Commercial Section Chief Stephen Green will follow up with a keynote presentation, and Dr. Jack Jan of NPIC will serve as forum chair. Participating organizations include the AIT Kaohsiung Branch Office, NPIC, the American State Offices Association (ASOA), the American Chamber of Commerce Kaohsiung, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

Also on April 15, AIT Commercial Section, NPIC, the Chinese Economics Trade and Academic Exchange Association (CETAEA), and Kaohsiung Industrial Development Association (KIDA) are pleased to co-organize an invitation-only dinner event to honor the Annual Importer of the Year, an award established in 2007 to recognize Taiwanese companies dedicated to importing American technology to Taiwan.

This year’s winner is Ketech Scientific Instrument Co., Ltd., a company based in Kaohsiung City that serves as exclusive agent for several U.S. manufacturers of water quality and environmental analysis equipment.
