Arlington, VA. – On June 25, 2019, the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States (TECRO) exchanged signed Letters of Intent (LOI) establishing a Baggage Screening Facilitation (BSF) program at Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), Taipei, Taiwan.

A BSF Program would exempt from screening transfer hold baggage bound from the United States to third jurisdictions via Taiwan.

AIT Managing Director John Norris and TECRO Deputy Representative Louis Huang previously had signed the Letters of Intent that were exchanged in the presence of Deputy Minister HUANG, Yu-Lin, Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) and USG Executive Advisor to State Department Eric Sarandrea.
