The American Institute in Taiwan is honored to sponsor free public performances by the internationally acclaimed American country music trio Kyle Dillingham and Horseshoe Road in Taipei, Kaohsiung and Tainan from March 23-26, 2013.
In partnership with Taipei Cultural Affairs Bureau the group will present two public concerts in Taipei’s Daan Forest Park. Horseshoe Road will perform with the Taipei Symphony Orchestra to present several Taiwan songs that are beloved by local audiences for the second set of the program. The other partners include National Sun Yat-sen University and Tainan Municipal Cultural Center as the co-hosts of the concerts in Kaohsiung and Tainan.

Horseshoe Road’s performances in Taiwan are part of The American Music Abroad program, which is co-produced by Jazz at Lincoln Center, the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and the American Institute in Taiwan. Taipei Cultural Affairs Bureau and AIT will co-host the two concerts in Taipei Da-an Forest Park. In addition to Taiwan, Horseshoe Road will also perform in Korea, Burma, and Russia.
To deepen the cultural exchange with local people, the Horseshoe Road will conduct a Master Class at the National Taiwan Normal University, and a workshop plus open studio at the Taipei First Girls High School.
KYLE DILLINGHAM & HORSESHOE ROAD (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) blends an eclectic musical style ranging from Blues to Bluegrass, Gypsy Jazz to Western Swing, Country, Rock and Gospel into an earthy genre of music they call, Heartland Acoustic. The group includes three American musicians: Kyle Dillingham (Fiddle), Peter Markes (Guitar), and Brent Saulsbury (Bass).
Kyle Dillingham is renowned as Oklahoma’s Musical Ambassador, and celebrated for his virtuosity in fiddle playing and featured twice on Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry. He and his band performed in celebration of Oklahoma’s centennial at Oklahoma State Fair Centennial Expo in 2000. In 2008, Horseshoe Road completed a U.S. embassy sponsored tour of Thailand, which commemorated the 175th anniversary of relations between the United States of America and the Kingdom of Thailand. Horseshoe Road is the winner of the 2011 International Acoustic Music Awards in the Country/Bluegrass category.
