The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) will host the 2013 Shape the World Youth Forum in Riverside Live House on September 14th, 2013. This first-ever half-day forum for young people in Taiwan is being held in partnership with the Global Views Educational Foundation to promote the important role that youth play in the development of society, and share experiences related to how young people can have an impact in NGOs, business, politics, and the community.
The forum will feature opening remarks by AIT Director Christopher J. Marut, speakers from the United States and Taiwan, and panel discussions. The forum offers a new and engaging platform for engaging with Taiwan’s young people, and sharing experiences on promoting positive change. Sessions will focus on the increasingly important influence that young people have on economic, political and social issues.
AIT has publicized the youth forum through college campuses and on AIT’s Facebook. AIT estimates that 300 young professionals and students from all regions of Taiwan will attend the forum.
Members of the media are invited to cover the 2013 Shape the World Youth Forum in Riverside Live House on September 14. Media availability, including Director Marut’s opening remarks, is scheduled from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.
