The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) is pleased to join with Taiwan’s Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) and the American Chamber of Commerce in Taipei to present the second U.S.-Taiwan Clean Energy Forum on October 25, 2011. The forum will highlight the expanding partnership between Taiwan and the United States in the field of clean energy and the many opportunities for cooperation.
Premier Wu Den-yih and AIT Director William A. Stanton will deliver remarks at the opening ceremony for the event, which will take place at the Grant Hyatt Taipei at 9:00 a.m. on October 25. The opening ceremony will also feature a special videotaped greeting from U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson.
This forum follows the tremendously successful U.S.-Taiwan Clean Energy Forum held in Kaohsiung in December 2010. This year, industry leaders, policy makers, academic researchers and the general public will meet in the forum to tackle issues such as green buildings, energy supply and clean technology innovations.
Three of the key U.S. speakers at the forum are: Matt Clouse, Policy and Programs Advisor of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Cary N. Bloyd, Senior Research Advisor with Pacific North West National Laboratory, and Hui-Tsung Tang, Technical Executive at the Electric Power Research Institute.
The forum will be followed by the October 26-29 Taiwan International Green Industry Show (TiGiS) organized by the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs. The exhibit features a U.S. pavilion to showcase U.S. green products and will be held in Hall One of the Taipei World Trade Center.
