The Taipei Book Fair Foundation and the Commercial Section of the American Institute in Taiwan are partnering to present the U.S.A. Pavilion in the Taipei International Book Exhibition (TIBE) 2010 from January 27 to February 1. This year, the U.S.A. Pavilion will showcase over 700 books, e-books, and digital databases, including many best sellers and award winners. The books will focus on five main genres: Business/Management, Children, Education/Academic, Literature/Fiction, and Self-help/Life Style.
The AIT Commercial Section will host a welcome reception on Wednesday, January 27, at 12:00 noon for the media and local publishers to introduce the U.S.A. Pavilion at booth A1119. The reception will feature a performance by award-winning special guest Mike “The Storyteller” Lockett, and Taiwan author Lisa Cheng will talk about her latest book on gourmet dining in New York City.
On behalf of this year’s U.S.A. Pavilion exhibitors, the AIT Commercial Section welcomes all publishers, book importers, schools, libraries and book stores to visit the U.S.A. Pavilion at booth A1119 and learn more about the books and eContent on display. The AIT Commercial Section is happy to introduce Taiwan publishers to U.S. publishers for B2B purchasing, licensing and publishing rights.
With support from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Global Publishing Team, AIT Commercial Section recruited some 200 U.S. publishers and digital content providers to promote their titles for copyright sale at TIBE 2010. Representatives from Author Services, Scholastic, McGraw-Hill, and Encyclopedia Britannica will exhibit their books and digital content in the U.S.A. Pavilion. Furthermore, the U.S.A. Pavilion is promoting educational and academic books from some twenty educational book publishers and many well-known U.S. university publishing houses, including MIT, Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Johns Hopkins, Chicago, California and Columbia. These publishers display a wide range of books from language learning to test preparation to all levels of education.
The U.S.A. Pavilion will also display a special exhibition explaining the transition from paper books to electronic formats. Twelve U.S. digital content providers and platform service providers will showcase the integration of current technology and digital content into a variety of electronic formats, including ebooks, elibraries, digital archives, and digital databases.
Credentialed members of the media will be treated to a boxed lunch and gift during the reception.
